daoCAT is a community governance system built for the daCAT ecosystem. The Governance Hub gives Legends a structured place to propose ideas, participate in polls, establish standards, track follow-through, and preserve a permanent history of community decisions.

daoCAT currently measures Legend participation as the share of eligible poll ballots a Legend has cast. That percentage is already shown on the public Active Legends roster. Abstaining is a ballot. Not voting is not. Final turnout: 16 of 18 eligible Active Legends. POLL-004 quorum required 9 ballots (at least 50%, rounded up to a whole Legend when needed). This runoff is being held because the original Poll #002 reached quorum, but no single option received more than 50% of the deciding votes. Under the Majority + Runoff rule established by Poll #001, when a poll has more than two choices and no option receives a majority, the two highest-performing choices advance to a runoff. Because 48 Hours and 24 Hours received the most support, those two choices now advance to the final runoff. Final turnout: 13 of 18 eligible Legends. Quorum required 9. What should be the standard voting duration for future daoCAT governance polls?
This vote will establish the standard duration that future daoCAT governance polls remain open. The purpose is to balance two important principles: Participation: Giving every eligible Legend enough time to review proposals and cast their vote. Efficiency: Allowing governance decisions to move forward in a reasonable timeframe. This poll uses the governance standard established by Poll #001: - Quorum must be reached for a valid decision. - A winning option must receive more than 50% of deciding votes. - If no option reaches majority, the top two options will proceed to a runoff vote. The selected duration will become the default timeframe for standard governance polls. Special circumstances requiring different timelines may be addressed through future governance rules. How should winners be determined in future daoCAT governance polls with more than two choices?
This vote establishes how daoCAT will determine the winner of future governance polls containing three or more choices. Majority + Runoff: A choice must receive more than 50% of the deciding votes to win. If no choice reaches that threshold, the two choices receiving the most votes advance to a final runoff vote. Plurality: The choice receiving the most votes wins, even if it receives 50% or less of the deciding votes. Quorum is separate from determining the winner. Quorum determines whether enough eligible Legends participated for the poll to be valid. Abstentions count toward quorum but do not count toward either choice. The result of this poll will establish the standard used for future multi-choice daoCAT governance polls. Final turnout: 17 of 17 eligible Legends. Quorum required 9.
